Healthier Fried Chicken Wings

A great fried chicken wings recipe for use with the air frier and oven.

ingredients

  • 10
  • - chicken wings cut into halves
  • 5 heaped table spoons
  • - plain flour
  • 1 tsp
  • - baking powder
  • 1 tsp
  • - smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp
  • - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp
  • - garlic granules
  • 1 tsp
  • - cayenne pepper
  • 2
  • - medium eggs
  • a good pinch
  • - salt and pepper

method

  1. Toss the wings in baking powder then dry them out in the oven at 130°C for 8 minutes per side.
  2. Sieve together the flour, seasoning, and rest of the spices.
  3. Once the wings have dried out and are looking a bit crispier leave them to cool down so you can handle them.
  4. One by one dredge the wings through the egg before coating with the sieved mixture before laying on a baking tray.
  5. Oven bake the wings for 10 minutes per side at 200°C or until the wings are done and crisp to your liking.
  6. Enjoy

Tip

This recipe works great with an air frier, just make sure you check the wings and move them around more so they cook evenly.
